HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, November 6, 2012 – Collaborative learning startup sageCrowd announced today their board of directors.


The membership of this Board includes experts in learning software technology, finance and investing. sageCrowd Co-founders, Ryan Cameron and Sean Sears, are joined on the Board by Rick Ormston, Jim Enman, and Michael Mailman.

Richard (Rick) Ormston: Mr. Ormston spent twenty-five years as a tax partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Since 2004 Mr. Ormston has been an independent consultant to domestic, foreign and multinational enterprises; CFO and Director of Simunication Inc. until its successful merger with Borland Software in 2008; CFO, Co-founder and Director of REM Forest Products Inc., a tropical hardwood harvesting company operating on the Pacific Coast of Colombia until its RTO in 2010 and public listing; Director and Audit Committee Chair for Landdrill International Inc., a public company providing global drilling services to the mining industry; Co-founder and CFO of Solución Americas, a South American company exploiting non-combustible engineered wood and other materials; and Director of Ogden Pond Capital.

Jim Enman: Mr. Enman is a lawyer and entrepreneur with over 25 years experience. His law practice has focused on corporate and commercial matters, especially business acquisitions, divestitures and combinations, early stage technology companies, and financing / commercialization of new technologies. He has participated in several business startups as a director, officer and shareholder, mainly involving information technologies or mineral exploration, several of which were acquired by publicly-traded corporations. Mr. Enman has provided business consulting services to a variety of corporations, First Nations bands, and agencies (including the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), especially relating to feasibility assessments, planning of new business ventures and commercialization of technology.

Michael D. Mailman:
 Mr. Mailman spent 10 years in the technology sector, acting as Channel Manager in Atlantic Canada for Data General Corporation, Vice President of Business Development of Keltic Technologies Group and Vice President of Franchise Development for HookUp Communications (the last two were publicly-traded TSX companies). From 2001 until 2008 Mr. Mailman served as Vice President to a regional merchant bank based in Atlantic Canada. During his tenure he raised in excess of $160 Million for reinvestment into portfolio companies in financial services, technology and real estate. In addition, Mr. Mailman managed a mezzanine debt fund specializing in financing scientific research and experimental development credits. Presently he serves as President of a private holding company where he provides advisory executive management services.
